Job Description

A contract Special Education teaching opportunity is available in West Columbia, SC for the 2024-2025 academic year. This role supports students across elementary, middle, and high school levels within a well-established school district. Assignments focus on various special education settings, including resource classrooms and self-contained environments specializing in learning disabilities and emotional disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction to students with learning disabilities or emotional disabilities.
  • Develop and implement tailored educational plans in compliance with special education standards.
  • Collaborate with school staff and support personnel to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Manage classroom environments to foster inclusive and supportive learning experiences.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate progress with parents and educational teams.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching license.
  • Teaching certification with endorsement in Learning Disabilities or Multicategorical Special Education.
  • Experience in resource or self-contained special education settings is preferred.
  • Ability to work full-time (35-40 hours per week) with a flexible schedule per grade level needs.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills suited to diverse student needs.

Work Schedule and Placement:

  • Positions available across elementary (7:00 am - 2:30 pm), middle (8:00 am - 3:00 pm), and high school levels (8:00 am - 3:30 pm).
  • Contract duration runs from August 7, 2024, through May 28, 2025.
  • Onsite presence is required, supporting multiple special education classrooms.

Additional Details:
