Qualifications & Desired Background:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for the state of Florida
- Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Experience with developing, implementing, and reviewing IEPs
- Comfort with differentiated instruction and adaptive teaching methods
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Patience, empathy, and flexibility when working with students, families, and support staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver instruction customized for various abilities and learning styles
- Assess student performance and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Write and update IEPs in coordination with multidisciplinary teams
- Foster a supportive classroom atmosphere that respects diversity and individuality
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
