Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Kansas special education teaching license required
  • Experience across K-12 educational settings is highly desirable
  • Resource room and self-contained classroom experience preferred
  • Comfortable collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team context
  • Capable of actively participating in IEP meetings and communicating effectively with families and staff
  • Proficient in creating, modifying, and tracking IEP goals to support student growth
  • Familiarity with Kansas school systems is an advantage but not essential
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply and will be considered

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess student needs and create personalized learning plans
  • Implement evidence-based instructional strategies in varied classroom settings
  • Develop, adapt, and monitor IEP documents to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations
  • Work closely with general education staff, therapists, and other service providers
  • Consistently communicate progress and adapt plans in consultation with families and school teams
