Job Description
This position is for a Special Education Teacher serving elementary students in grades K-5. The role is based in Weaverville, NC, and involves a contract for the school calendar year (CSY), working five days a week for approximately 37.5 hours per week.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid North Carolina Special Education Teaching License
- Experience working with K-5 students in special education settings
- Ability to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Skilled in adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instructional support to students with disabilities within an elementary school environment
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to develop and monitor IEPs
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with all stakeholders
- Support a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that fosters student growth
