Job Description
Make an impact as a Special Education Teacher working with elementary students in a supportive educational setting. Qualifications:
- Current Connecticut special education teaching license with appropriate grade-level authorization
- Experience working with elementary-age children in a special education setting is preferred
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs
- Adaptability, patience, and a dedication to fostering a nurturing, inclusive learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute effective lesson plans aligned with students IEPs and educational standards
- Utilize differentiated instruction techniques to address varying learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and other support staff to integrate services and maximize student success
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as required
- Foster students social, emotional, and academic growth through positive reinforcement and encouragement
