Looking for a meaningful opportunity to impact students lives in Vermont? Several contract positions are available for certified Special Education Teachers to support schools in the Barre area for the 2026-2027 academic year. These in-person roles span middle and high school settings, with each educator providing essential special education services through direct instruction and case management.
Youll play a vital part in fostering an inclusive learning environment, delivering tailored instruction, and collaborating closely with school staff and families to help students achieve their goals. These roles require on-site presence, as the district is prioritizing a transition away from remote support.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification meeting all Vermont requirements (required)
- Experience working in middle or high school settings preferred
- Strong ability to provide individualized instruction and case management
- Commitment to collaborative teamwork with school-based therapists, teachers, and families
- Effective communicator and advocate for students with diverse learning needs
- Must be available for in-person work from late August 2026 through June 2027
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students in accordance with IEPs
- Oversee case management for assigned caseloads and maintain required documentation
- Collaborate with general education staff to ensure appropriate accommodations
- Attend and actively contribute to IEP meetings, parent conferences, and staff discussions
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere
