Job Description

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting middle school students in a specialized AIM program. This full-time position offers a meaningful chance to make a difference for behavioral students through a combination of push-in and pull-out service models. The role is based in a single school near Waterbury, CT, with hours from 7:25 am to 2:40 pm, and runs from as soon as possible through the end of the academic year.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Connecticut Special Education Teacher (SPED) licensure
  • Prior experience working in special education, specifically at the middle school level
  • Familiarity with behavioral intervention strategies and individualized education plans
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt instructional techniques for students with a variety of learning and behavioral needs
  • Collaborative spirit for working alongside general education teachers, aides, and support staff

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction to behavioral students within the AIM program
  • Provide both push-in and pull-out support services depending on student needs
  • Develop, implement, and track IEP goals, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that values inclusion and respect
  • Communicate regularly with families and staff to report progress and address challenges
  • Participate in team and staff meetings as required
