Job Description

This is a full-time, contract opportunity serving one school site, designed for compassionate educators dedicated to creating accessible and engaging educational experiences for all students.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and delivering differentiated instruction in a self-contained or inclusive elementary classroom
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Working alongside paraeducators and support staff to ensure student needs are met throughout the school day
  • Utilizing evidence-based practices and accommodations to create a positive, inclusive classroom community
  • Assessing student progress, maintaining thorough documentation, and actively communicating with stakeholders
  • Participating in ongoing training and collaborating with fellow professionals to promote professional growth

Desired qualifications:

  • Current and valid DC Special Education Teaching License
  • Demonstrated experience working with elementary-aged students with diverse learning needs
  • Strong knowledge of current best practices in special education and differentiated instruction
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Passion for fostering academic and social-emotional growth among students

Compensation for this position ranges from $31.00 to $50.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
