Make a lasting difference in an elementary learning environment as a Special Education Teacher working with a supportive staff in Washington, D.C. This is a full-time, contract opportunity serving one school site, designed for compassionate educators dedicated to creating accessible and engaging educational experiences for all students.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing and delivering differentiated instruction in a self-contained or inclusive elementary classroom
• Developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Working alongside paraeducators and support staff to ensure student needs are met throughout the school day
• Utilizing evidence-based practices and accommodations to create a positive, inclusive classroom community
• Assessing student progress, maintaining thorough documentation, and actively communicating with stakeholders
• Participating in ongoing training and collaborating with fellow professionals to promote professional growth

Desired qualifications:

• Current and valid DC Special Education Teaching License
• Demonstrated experience working with elementary-aged students with diverse learning needs
• Strong knowledge of current best practices in special education and differentiated instruction
• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Passion for fostering academic and social-emotional growth among students
