An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to provide essential support and instruction in a dynamic school environment located in Washington, DC. This contract position seeks a dedicated professional with expertise in special education to contribute to the academic and social development of students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students unique requirements.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and parents to support student progress.
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet the varied learning styles and abilities of students.
- Monitor and document student achievements and challenges, adjusting instructional strategies accordingly.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that fosters growth and encourages student participation.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance instructional skills.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in special education.
- Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Patience, creativity, and the ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse needs.
