Qualifications:
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility)
- Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education or related field
- Experience working with children who have a wide range of disabilities
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to develop and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and support staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement personalized lesson plans and instructional strategies aligned with students IEP goals
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with mild to moderate disabilities
- Regularly assess student progress and adapt instruction as necessary
- Maintain accurate documentation of student performance, IEP data, and parent communications
- Work closely with general education teachers to promote an inclusive classroom environment
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions
