Job Description

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid state certification as a Special Education Teacher
  • Demonstrated experience working with K-12 students requiring specialized educational services
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
  • Ability to tailor lesson plans to individual learning styles and needs
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families and school teams
  • Prior experience with homebound or similar instructional settings preferred
  • Dependable, organized, and self-motivated

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to a homebound student 3 times per week (1 hour per session)
  • Assess, plan, and implement individualized educational strategies to support the students unique needs
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in accordance with state and district requirements
  • Collaborate with caregivers, school staff, and other service providers to ensure cohesive support
  • Adapt materials and teaching methods to enhance accessibility and understanding for the student
  • Maintain a safe, encouraging, and flexible learning environment in the students home setting
