Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher, providing essential instruction and care for a third-grade elementary class. This is a full-time contract opportunity, filling in for a maternity leave from mid-September through December. Experience the fulfillment of making a positive impact every day while working Monday through Friday, 8:30am3:30pm, with one school location and a focused caseload.
What Were Looking For:
- Current Rhode Island Special Education Teacher Certification (required)
- Experience or strong interest in working with elementary-age students, particularly in special education settings
- Ability to create supportive, differentiated learning environments for diverse learning needs
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and school staff
- Professional, team-oriented, and flexible to adapt within a classroom community
Role Highlights:
- Provide daily instruction and support to a third-grade special education class, adapting curriculum and strategies as needed
- Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and track student progress toward established goals
- Collaborate with school staff, including paraprofessionals and related support personnel
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
- Participate in meetings as needed and communicate regularly with families regarding student growth
