Make a meaningful difference in students lives by taking on a contract position as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming school year. This full-time opportunity focuses on supporting middle schoolers with mild to moderate needs in a self-contained classroom, where you will play a crucial role in nurturing their academic and personal development.
What Were Looking For:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification applicable to middle school
- Prior experience working with students with mild to moderate disabilities preferred
- Demonstrated skill in adapting curriculum and implementing IEPs
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Passion for advocacy and inclusion for diverse learners
What Youll Do:
- Provide specialized instruction in a classroom of 12 students, tailoring lessons to individual needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Foster a supportive and structured learning environment
- Collaborate closely with general education staff, support professionals, and families
- Track progress, document outcomes, and adjust strategies to align with each learners goals
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding special education
Schedule & Setting:
- Contract runs from August 13, 2026, to June 3, 2027
- Located conveniently near Warrenton and Henderson, NC
- Consistent hours: Monday through Friday, 7:15am to 3:15pm (37.5 hours per week)
- Manage a manageable caseload of 12 middle school students in a self-contained setting
