In this rewarding contract role with the University Preparatory Academy, youll play a pivotal part in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, collaborating directly with students who have mild to moderate learning needs.

Utilize your expertise in special education to craft and carry out Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) personalized for each students unique strengths and challenges. As part of a collaborative team, youll work hands-on in the classroom, ensuring every student receives the support and encouragement they need throughout the 2026-2027 academic year.

Key Qualifications:

• Current Michigan Teaching Certification with a valid Special Education endorsement
• Previous experience working with K-12 students with mild to moderate needs is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of IEP development, goal-setting, and implementation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to engage with students, staff, and families
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful educational environment

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement tailored IEPs for students
• Provide in-person instruction and support within a classroom setting
• Collaborte with general education teachers, support staff, and families to monitor student progress and growth
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and school policies
• Participate actively in staff meetings, training, and professional development activities
