This full-time position runs from August 31, 2024, through June 25, 2025, giving you the opportunity to experience a dynamic school environment and work closely with students, staff, and families. The role is specifically focused on supporting students within a self-contained resource room, helping them achieve success both academically and socially.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold an active Michigan teaching license with a Special Education endorsement
- Experience working with middle school students in special education programs preferred
- Ability to collaborate effectively with fellow educators, support staff, and families
- Strong classroom management and individualized instruction abilities
- Skilled at developing and implementing IEPs tailored to each students unique needs
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop, adapt, and deliver individualized lesson plans for middle school students in a resource room environment
- Monitor progress and maintain detailed records in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to implement IEPs and adjust strategies as needed
- Create an inclusive, supportive classroom culture that encourages student growth and engagement
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress
- Support each childs academic, emotional, and behavioral needs with patience and creativity
