This contract opportunity spans the 2026/2027 school year and offers the chance to work closely with a dedicated team, focusing on providing individualized instruction and support within the SPARK program and cognitive impairment classrooms.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience working with elementary-age students, especially in resource and cognitive impairment programs
- Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with colleagues, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt instruction and materials to meet diverse learning needs
Position Details:
- Full-time, 35 hours per week
- Assigned to one elementary school
- Caseload includes 1 SPARK (resource) program and 2 cognitive impaired elementary groups
- Support from on-site supervision (Para, RBT, CNA, or LPN available)
- Contract duration for the entire 2026/2027 school year
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction aligned with student abilities and goals
- Track progress, document outcomes, and participate in IEP meetings
- Foster a supportive, inclusive environment that encourages growth and independence
- Communicate regularly with families, paraprofessionals, and related service staff
