Job Description
Step into a rewarding summer assignment supporting students in an Autism Summer School classroom. This contract position runs from July 7, 2026, through August 6, 2026, with a schedule of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon. Located near Warren, MI, this opportunity is ideal for Special Education Teachers who are passionate about empowering students and fostering a positive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Active Special Education Teacher certification is required (emergency or substitute permits are not accepted)
- Previous experience working with students on the autism spectrum is preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Committed to creating an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere
- Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet individual student needs
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate engaging lessons tailored to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in daily instruction
- Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and paraprofessionals to ensure holistic student support
- Maintain accurate progress records and provide ongoing feedback to students and families
- Foster a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
