Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching certification
  • Experience working with K-8 students with exceptionalities
  • Skill in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong classroom management abilities, especially in settings with varying behaviors
  • Adaptability to work effectively in resource classroom settings
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with staff and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and support K-8 students in a resource classroom, adapting instructional methods to individual needs
  • Utilize assessment data to guide instructional planning and progress monitoring
  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that accommodates diverse learners
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to support student growth
  • Implement and monitor IEPs, documenting student progress toward goals
  • Participate in both in-person and virtual meetings and interviews as required
