Make a meaningful impact in the lives of elementary students by providing essential support as a full-time Special Education Teacher. This contract opportunity is positioned in a resource setting, working directly with students who require individualized attention and learning accommodations.
Key Qualifications:
- Michigan Special Education certification is required
- Background in special education teaching, with experience at the elementary level preferred
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with staff, administrators, and families
- Ability to develop, adapt, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Familiarity with a variety of instructional strategies and behavioral interventions
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct academic, behavioral, and social support to elementary-aged students within a resource classroom setting
- Design and deliver individualized lesson plans tailored to diverse student needs
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed to encourage growth
- Work collaboratively with general educators and support staff to promote student success and inclusion
- Maintain up-to-date records, assessments, and compliance with state and federal regulations
- Actively participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing professional development
