This opportunity spans the academic year from August through June, offering full-time hours with placements tailored to your expertisewhether you prefer an elementary caseload with younger learners or supporting students through their middle and high school journeys. Each assignment comes with resources appropriate to the caseload, allowing you to focus on delivering impactful individualized instruction.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid Oregon Special Education teaching license (required)
- Experience in adapting curriculum for diverse learners
- Strong classroom management abilities
- Skill in developing IEPs and tracking student progress
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with staff and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to assigned students, adapting lessons and strategies to meet IEP goals
- Manage a caseload ranging from fewer than 20 to approximately 35 students, depending on the site
- Serve K2, 36, 712, or K12 age groups, matched to placement
- Collaborate with and, where assigned, provide direction to instructional assistants
- Maintain compliance with state and federal education regulations
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
- Document student progress and participate in IEP meetings
