Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current teaching certification with special education endorsement (or eligibility)
- Experience with a broad spectrum of ages (Pre-K through grade 12) highly valued
- Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction techniques and IEP development
- Background in teaching core subjects, especially math
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with families, support staff, and administration
- Ability to foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Design engaging, accessible lessons for students in grades Pre-K through 12, focusing on individual strengths and needs
- Implement and monitor IEPs, track student progress, and maintain thorough documentation
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers and related service providers
- Support social-emotional growth in addition to academic development
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress
- Adapt teaching strategies to create a positive, encouraging atmosphere
