Job Description

Key qualifications and skills:

  • Valid teaching credential or certification in Special Education
  • Experience teaching students in one or more of the following: Early Childhood, Pre-K, Kindergarten, Grades K5, 68, or 912
  • Strong understanding of IEPs and compliance requirements
  • Ability to adapt lessons and teaching methods for individualized learning
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Experience teaching Math is highly desirable

Primary responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student progress
  • Foster an encouraging classroom environment that supports all learners, including integrating Math concepts for diverse grade levels
  • Track and report on student goals, learning objectives, and progress
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing professional development
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and assistive technologies
