Job Description
Bring your passion for special education to a dynamic school environment for the 2026-2027 academic year! Were seeking dedicated educators to support students at both middle and high school levels, with several subject-area concentrations available. This is a contract, full-time opportunity in an onsite, collaborative setting.
Four openings are available:
- 1 Middle School position (8:30AM-4PM or 8AM-3:15PM, hours to be determined)
- 3 High School positions (7:15AM-2:45PM), covering Science, Math, and Social Studies concentrations
- Work approximately 35 hours per week
Ideal candidates will demonstrate mastery of subject matter, deliver engaging instruction, and create lesson plans aligned with state and district standards. The ability to drive differentiated instruction and use formative assessment is essential. Strong classroom and behavioral management skills are a must, along with comfort working in an urban educational setting.
Qualifications:
- Active special education certification/licensure for assigned caseload
- Bachelors degree (required for emergency teaching permit)
- Prior school-based experience, preferably in urban schools
- Mastery of content area (Science, Math, or Social Studies for high school roles)
- Ability to work strict onsite hours (no accommodations around schedule)
- Up-to-date PA clearances (or ability to obtain)
- Reliable transportation
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans that meet students unique needs
- Utilize a variety of instructional resources and assessment techniques
- Foster a positive and organized classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues and families to support student growth
Start date is August 24, 2026, with the contract ending June 10, 2027. All interviews will be conducted via Zoom.
