- Current South Carolina Special Education certification, or eligibility for certification
- Direct experience working in emotional disabilities (ED), behavioral, or alternative education classrooms is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated strength with classroom management and crisis intervention
- An unwavering ability to stay calm, consistent, and focused on student growth in challenging situations
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized specialized instruction tailored to each students IEP goals
- Develop and apply behavior intervention plans and effective de-escalation strategies
- Establish a classroom environment that is therapeutic, predictable, and supportive
- Foster students social-emotional learning and appropriate skill-building opportunities
- Collaborate daily with behavioral specialists, related service providers, and administrators to ensure comprehensive student support
- Accurately document student progress, maintain records, and actively contribute to IEP meetings
