Job Description
A Special Education Teacher role is available in Troy, NY, working within integrated and self-contained preschool classrooms serving children ages 3 to 5. This contract position offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., providing the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in early childhood education.
Qualifications:
- NYS Certification in Special Education or Students with Disabilities Birth to Grade 2 is required.
- Candidates pursuing certification in Special Education Birth to Grade 2 may be considered for Substitute Special Education Teacher roles.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to the needs of children with diverse learning and developmental needs in preschool settings.
- Develop and implement comprehensive education plans aligned with best practices and state guidelines.
- Collaborate with classroom staff, families, and related service providers to support student growth and functional outcomes.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies to maximize achievement and engagement.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
