Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher for a 1st grade in-class resource room. This full-time position is based in a supportive school environment near Trenton, NJ, running from late August to early November. Youll be part of a dedicated team, helping students thrive academically and socially in a collaborative classroom setting.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid New Jersey Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility); NJ sped license strongly preferred
- Prior experience working within elementary grades, ideally with 1st graders in an in-class resource or inclusion setting
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with general education teachers, aides, families, and support staff
- Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and differentiate instruction for a diverse range of learning needs
- Adaptable, empathetic, and committed to positive student outcomes
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction and interventions for 1st grade students as outlined in IEPs within the resource room model
- Collaborate with the general education teacher to create an inclusive, engaging classroom environment
- Maintain documentation, reports, and timely communication with families and team members
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and IEP reviews as needed
- Foster a nurturing, supportive atmosphere where every child can succeed
