Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher specializing in autism support. This contract position offers you an opportunity to guide and nurture a small caseload of seven kindergarten and first-grade students in a collaborative, supportive elementary school environment. Youll be surrounded by a dedicated team, including two paraprofessionals in the classroom, and benefit from robust support from both building administration and a skilled special education department.
What Youll Bring:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification with Autism Spectrum Disorder endorsement
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, especially those with ASD
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with paraprofessionals, staff, and families
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment
- Availability for full-time, onsite work during standard school hours
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group instruction to a K-1st grade caseload, adapting materials and approaches to meet unique needs
- Design and implement IEPs that target academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals
- Lead, mentor, and collaborate with two dedicated paraprofessionals in the classroom
- Communicate regularly with families, building relationships that support each childs growth
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and evidence-based practices for students with autism
- Participate in meetings, staff professional development, and ongoing team collaboration
