Step into an impactful role supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a welcoming primary school setting. This full-time, contract opportunity allows you to make a difference each day, working closely with a dedicated K-1 split instructional class. You'll serve as a self-contained teacher, creating a supportive and inclusive environment that nurtures growth and learning for all students.
In this role, you'll work at a single school, following a consistent schedule from 8:20 am to 3:05 pm, allowing for a predictable routine and meaningful connections with your students.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid LBS1 license is required
- Experience teaching in a primary or elementary special education setting
- Ability to develop and implement individualized instruction plans
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues
- Passion for fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet student needs
Core Responsibilities:
- Teach and manage a K-1 self-contained special education classroom
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction aligned with student IEPs
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and families
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Promote a safe, positive, and respectful classroom environment
