Qualifications:

  • Active Colorado Department of Education Certification with Special Education endorsement required.
  • Experience supporting students with affective needs, significant autism, and/or emotional dysregulation preferred.
  • Familiarity with structured learning services and center-based programs ideal.
  • Comfort managing challenging behaviors (hitting, biting, eloping) is a plus.
  • AAC device experience strongly valued.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support within elementary, middle, or high school settings (K12).
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers, paraprofessionals, and specialized service providers.
  • Adapt strategies for students with diverse and severe needs.
  • Document progress and coordinate individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Help develop life skills and foster daily adjustment routines for students.
