Job Description

This position offers an opportunity to serve K-12 students across multiple schools in the Denver area, focusing on special education disciplines. Assignments include roles such as Affective Needs Teacher, Learning Specialist, and Significant Support Needs (SSN) Teacher, supporting students with diverse learning requirements.

Location: Thornton, CO (with placements in Denver area schools)

Duration: Contract through the 2025-2026 school year, starting ASAP through May 22, 2026
Schedule: Full-time, 35+ hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with emotional, cognitive, and learning challenges in various school settings.
  • Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student needs and state requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including educators, therapists, and families to support student growth.
  • Utilize positive behavioral supports and interventions to foster an inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and district guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Active Colorado Department of Education Special Education certification.
  • Experience with K-12 students requiring special education support (0-10+ years relevant experience accepted).
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, practices, and curriculum adaptations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative school environment.
  • Flexibility and dedication to supporting diverse student populations.
