 Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a dedicated and qualified Remote Special Education Teacher for an anticipated school-based opening serving students across Maine.

Position Overview

As a Remote Special Education Teacher, you will provide virtual instruction, support, and case management services for students with diverse learning needs. You'll collaborate closely with families, general education teachers, and school teams to ensure student success in a dynamic online learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver virtual special education instruction aligned with student IEP goals
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Conduct progress monitoring and maintain accurate documentation
  • Collaborate with parents, educators, and related service providers
  • Participate in virtual IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
  • Maintain compliance with state, district, and federal special education regulations

Qualifications

  • Active Maine Special Education Teaching License is required. 
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education or related field
  • Prior school-based special education experience preferred
  • Experience with virtual instruction is a plus
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting
