Job Description

An experienced Special Education Teacher is required to provide telehealth services for a virtual special education program within a private day school setting. This contract position supports the ECATS program, serving students in the Norfolk, VA area. The assignment runs from early August 2026 through early June 2027, with a commitment of 37.5 hours per week.

Key responsibilities include managing a special education caseload, delivering direct instruction as needed, and ensuring compliance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The role demands leadership in conducting IEP meetings, timely completion of evaluations and assessments, and close collaboration with the Special Education director. Strong case management skills and an independent work style are essential for success. Support is provided through supervision by paraprofessionals or related staff.

Candidates must hold a valid Virginia teaching license in special education. Prior experience with case management, IEP development and compliance, and special education reporting is highly desirable. Familiarity with telehealth instructional delivery and expertise in working with diverse special needs populations in virtual environments will be beneficial.
