An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher skilled in telehealth to support a virtual Early Childhood and Transition Services (ECATS) program. This role focuses on serving students within private day school settings, providing critical case management and specialized instruction.
Responsibilities include managing multiple Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring compliance with all regulations, and collaborating closely with the Special Education team. The position requires leading IEP meetings confidently, completing assessments promptly, and maintaining direct communication with the director of Special Education. This role demands a self-directed professional with a strong background in case management who can adapt quickly and effectively from day one.
Key qualifications and desired experience:
- Possession of a valid Virginia Special Education teaching license.
- Proven experience as a case manager within special education.
- Expertise in conducting and leading IEP meetings.
- Ability to perform timely and comprehensive student assessments.
- Strong organizational and communication skills for direct reporting responsibilities.
- Comfortable working independently in a telehealth environment.
Location: Norfolk, Virginia Virtual/Telehealth with responsibilities supporting Norfolk City Public Schools special education initiatives.
Contract Duration: August 3, 2026, through June 4, 2027
Schedule: Approximately 37.5 hours per week
