Job Description

A Special Education Teacher position is available for the 2026-2027 school year, providing telehealth services to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Social, Emotional & Behavioral Needs. The role involves working 35 hours per week with caseloads spanning Early Childhood through Grade K-8.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and those with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with applicable laws and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with families and support staff to monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Utilize telehealth platforms effectively to conduct sessions and maintain engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Educator License (PEL) for Illinois schools, issued through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).
  • Experience working with students on the Autism Spectrum and those with behavioral and emotional needs.
  • Ability to deliver instruction remotely with strong communication and technological skills.

  • This position is based in Joliet, Illinois, with telehealth delivery of services.
