Job Description

An opportunity is available for a virtual special education teacher to provide telehealth services for students in a K-12 educational setting located in Virginia. This contract position spans a full semester and operates on a 1099 basis, with compensation provided on an hourly basis weekly.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering specialized instruction tailored to meet individual education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Utilizing telehealth platforms to conduct lessons and maintain active communication with students, families, and school personnel.
  • Monitoring student progress and adapting instructional strategies to support learning objectives.
  • Collaborating remotely with interdisciplinary teams to support student development while adhering to confidentiality and compliance standards.
  • Documenting educational activities and reporting outcomes in accordance with state and district guidelines.

Qualifications and experience desired:

  • Valid teaching certification in special education.
  • Proven experience in delivering virtual instruction within K-12 settings, particularly through telehealth methods.
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, individualized education program requirements, and best practices in remote teaching.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage students virtually.
