Key Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure for adapted curriculum required for assignment at Discovery School
- Experience with middle and/or high school students, especially those with high levels of autism and extended content standards
- Background in inclusion, resource, or adapted curriculum classroom settings preferred
- Compassionate, patient, and flexible in approach to diverse learning styles
- Strong collaboration skills and adept at working with multidisciplinary support teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging adapted curriculum or resource/inclusion instruction to a caseload of 1518 students, focusing on individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans tailored to extended content standards
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate data to support student growth and program reporting
- Collaborate with classroom staff, related service providers, and families to promote student success and engagement
- Support positive classroom management practices and provide a safe, affirming learning environment
The contract period runs from August 13, 2026, through June 3, 2027, aligning with the 26/27 school year. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am 3:30pm, offering up to 40 hours per week. Assignments are available at multiple locations, including settings with a majority inclusion or resource focus.
