Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education
  • Certification in Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students (K-1st preferred)
  • Knowledge of IEP development and progress monitoring
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management abilities
  • Ability to cultivate trusting relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Commitment to working full time, onsite

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs for students on the autism spectrum
  • Collaborate with a strong SPED and support team, as well as classroom paraprofessionals
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and goals
  • Foster an inclusive, encouraging classroom where all children feel supported and valued
  • Maintain detailed records and comply with all school guidelines and protocols
