Job Description

As a dedicated and compassionate Special Education professional, youll provide specialized instruction to help students reach their potential and succeed academically and socially.

This contract role runs from ASAP through the end of the current school year, offering flexibility with options to support either high school or elementary classrooms. Youll work 37.5 hours per week as part of a collaborative and inclusive environment where your expertise is valued and your growth as an educator is supported.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Valid New Mexico Special Education teaching certification
  • Strong understanding of instructional strategies for students with exceptional needs
  • Demonstrated experience with the subjects and grade levels to be taught
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, fostering effective collaboration with parents, students, and staff

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver specialized instruction that addresses students individualized education program (IEP) goals
  • Adapt and modify curriculum to meet diverse learning needs across assigned grade levels
  • Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages progress and participation
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and families to ensure comprehensive student support
  • Maintain detailed and timely documentation related to student progress and IEPs
