An opportunity is available for a full-time Life Skills Teacher specializing in Special Education at an elementary school setting. This contract position spans the upcoming school year and is located in Taos, NM. The role focuses on delivering tailored instruction to elementary students requiring specialized life skills education.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing individualized lesson plans that support life skills development aligned with student abilities and state standards.
• Providing direct instruction and support in a special education setting.
• Collaborating effectively with parents, students, and school staff to communicate progress and adapt learning strategies.
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with educational guidelines and policies.
• Participating in meetings, professional development, and school activities as required.

Ideal candidates will possess:

• A Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Education or a related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience teaching life skills and special education at the elementary level.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
• An active New Mexico Teaching License, ensuring eligibility to teach within the state.
