Make a lasting impact by supporting students across all grade levels as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant school environment near Sun Valley, CA. This contract role offers you the chance to foster growth and achievement for learners in early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school settings. Work closely with diverse student populations, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and utilize your expertise in both general education and special education practices, including math instruction.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Special Education
- Experience working with students in Pre-K through 12th grade, including math instruction
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and appropriate accommodations/modifications
- Ability to connect and collaborate with students, families, and educational staff
- Superior organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Adaptability to teach students across various grade bands and learning profiles
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction based on students IEPs
- Assess academic and functional skills, and tailor lesson plans for learners unique needs
- Integrate math instruction into special education programs as appropriate for assigned grade levels
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to reports and progress monitoring
- Work in partnership with general education teachers, support staff, and administration to ensure student success
