Job Description

Make a lasting impact as a Developmental Cognitive Disabilities Teacher supporting young learners in a K-2 setting. This rewarding contract opportunity runs from the end of February through June 2027, offering you a chance to make a difference each school year. Youll work full time, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with a manageable caseload of approximately 10 studentsallowing you to provide individualized attention and support.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Licensed Special Education Teacher with appropriate Minnesota credentials
  • Proven experience, or strong interest, in working with students with developmental cognitive disabilities
  • Strong understanding of IEPs, differentiated instruction, and positive behavior intervention strategies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and school staff
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver customized instruction for students in grades K-2 with developmental cognitive disabilities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor student IEPs, maintaining compliance with all regulations
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student learning and growth
  • Use evidence-based classroom management strategies to create a positive and structured environment
  • Track student progress, provide regular updates, and participate in IEP meetings
