Job Description

This full-time contract opportunity is designed for a passionate professional who thrives when fostering student success and collaborating with dedicated educators.

As a long-term substitute special education teacher, youll engage with a high school caseload focusing on students with learning disabilities. Your primary role will revolve around providing targeted reading intervention, enhancing executive functioning skills, and delivering individualized special education support within a vibrant academic setting. The assignment begins at the start of the 2026/2027 school year and extends through Thanksgiving 2026.

Qualifications and Desired Background:

  • Active Minnesota Special Education Teaching License required
  • Learning Disabilities (LD) licensure strongly preferred
  • Strong background in reading intervention and executive functioning support
  • Proficiency with IEP implementation, progress monitoring, and academic accommodations
  • Prior experience working with high school students in special education settings
  • Ability to integrate seamlessly into established teams
  • Preference for candidates with experience supporting executive functioning deficits and high school SPED environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging reading and executive functioning interventions
  • Collaborate with educators to develop and implement effective instructional strategies
  • Support IEP goals through classroom activities and accommodations
  • Monitor student progress and modify lessons as needed
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff
