Job Description

Step into a meaningful role supporting young learners in a high-needs special education setting. This full-time contract opportunity offers you the chance to make a significant difference in the lives of K2 students within a dedicated, collaborative classroom. The assignment runs from August 31, 2026 through June 4, 2027, with a consistent weekday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

You'll join a center-based classroom focused on students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), working alongside paraprofessional team members to provide individualized academic, behavioral, and functional support to approximately six students. Help shape a supportive, structured learning environment while coordinating closely with related service providers and families.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

  • Hold an active Minnesota Special Education Teaching License (ASD, DCD, ABS, or cross-categorical SPED licensure preferred)
  • Skilled in writing IEPs, collecting data, and implementing interventions tailored to diverse learning needs
  • Proven ability supporting students with autism and developmental disabilities, including behavioral support techniques and strong classroom structure
  • Comfortable collaborating with paraprofessionals, related service teams, and families
  • Experience in center-based autism classrooms, with exposure to AAC devices, sensory regulation strategies, or functional skills instruction is highly valued

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized academic and functional instruction for a diverse, high-needs K2 caseload
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in accordance with student goals and progress data
  • Foster a positive classroom culture underscored by collaboration and structure
  • Partner with paraprofessionals and support staff to facilitate inclusive and adaptive learning
  • Communicate effectively with families and staff to ensure student success
