Job Description
Make a positive impact as a Special Education Teacher in a full-time contract role supporting young learners in a high-support behavioral classroom environment. This assignment spans the academic year, running from August 31, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with a Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, working with a small group of K2 students in a center-based Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD) classroom.
Youll have the opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated team, provide instruction, and deliver specialized support for students who benefit from your expertise and compassionate guidance. The classroom emphasizes a structured, trauma-informed approach to behavioral intervention and emotional support.
Your background should include:
- Active Minnesota Special Education Teaching License
- EBD licensure (strongly preferred)
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs and BIPs
- Demonstrated skill in behavior intervention, de-escalation, and classroom consultation
- Ability to support students with significant behavioral needs
- Commitment to strong communication and effective teamwork
Preferred experience:
- Previous work in K2 center-based special education environments
- Familiarity with PBIS, CPI, or restorative practices
- Background in trauma-informed instructional practices
Your role will involve:
- Serving as an instructional leader within a high-support behavioral classroom
- Providing direct support and interventions for students with complex behavioral needs
- Collaborating with support staff and related service providers
- Maintaining detailed documentation and progress reports
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized education and behavior intervention plans
