Fuel your passion for making a difference in the lives of young learners by supporting elementary students in a center-based Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD) classroom. As a contract Special Education Teacher, youll lead a small group of students in grades 35 within a structured special education setting, working collaboratively with dedicated support staff. By providing academic instruction alongside behavioral and social-emotional guidance, youll be a vital resource for students who benefit from individualized attention and evidence-based interventions.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License (EBD licensure highly desirable)
- Prior experience in center-based or high-needs behavioral settings
- Demonstrated skill in designing and executing IEPs, BIPs, progress monitoring, and effective classroom interventions
- Strong classroom management and behavior de-escalation abilities
- Proven ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a collaborative team
- Experience in Setting III/center-based classrooms, PBIS/CPI implementation, trauma-informed practices, and supporting elementary-age students with behavioral needs is highly valued
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruct and support approximately 6 students in a classroom designed for emotional and behavioral needs
- Implement individualized academic, behavioral, and social-emotional programs
- Develop and monitor IEPs, behavior plans, and intervention strategies
- Collaborate with fellow educators, support staff, and families to promote student growth
- Foster a safe, structured, and responsive classroom environment that encourages learning and positive behavior
