Step into an impactful special education teaching opportunity designed for dedicated professionals passionate about making a difference for neurodiverse learners. This full-time, contract position offers the chance to empower students in a Setting 3 classroom for the 2026-2027 school year. Work within one building and support a close-knit group of approximately 6-10 students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Your expertise will help foster growth and independence in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Valid teaching license with an ASD or DCD endorsement (Tier 3 or Tier 4 only).
- Previous experience working with students with DCD and/or ASD in an academic setting strongly preferred.
- Strong classroom management and individualized instructional planning skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and structured classroom environment.
- Collaborative approach when working with paras, therapists, and fellow educators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to students with DCD/ASD.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collect and report on student progress, adapting strategies to maximize learning outcomes.
- Foster a safe, supportive, and predictable classroom environment.
- Engage with families and multidisciplinary teams to support student development.
- Maintain accurate records and fulfill all required documentation in a timely manner.
