Make a meaningful impact in the lives of middle school students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming academic year. This contract position offers the opportunity to work onsite at a welcoming middle school, supporting a fluid caseload of 10-15 students in a resource room setting. Youll play a vital role in fostering student growth while enjoying a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Maryland (MD) certification as a secondary Special Education Teacher
- Experience working with middle school students preferred
- Familiarity with resource room environments and fluid caseload management
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
- Commitment to individualized instruction, academic support, and inclusion
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide specially designed instruction tailored to students individual education plans (IEPs)
- Develop engaging lesson plans and adapt curriculum for diverse learners
- Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff to promote student success
- Monitor and document student progress, making adjustments as needed
- Cultivate a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
- Attend required meetings, trainings, and maintain professional development
