Step into a meaningful position supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher for elementary students. Use your Autism Spectrum Disorder Certification to make a powerful impact on a small caseload of seven kindergarten and first grade students. This full-time, onsite contract role gives you the opportunity to collaborate with two dedicated paraprofessionals and benefit from robust building and Special Education team support.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid state certification in Special Education, with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) endorsement
- Proven experience with elementary-aged students, particularly those in kindergarten and first grade
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administrative staff
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, nurturing environment where every child can thrive
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based instruction tailored to the individual needs of students with ASD
- Develop and implement IEPs in partnership with families, service providers, and support staff
- Provide direct support and guidance to paraprofessional colleagues working in your classroom
- Engage and motivate students in K-1st grade using innovative, age-appropriate strategies
- Encourage social, emotional, and academic growth through structured routines and positive reinforcement
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
