In this role, you'll manage a manageable caseload of 19 high school students, fostering growth, self-advocacy, and achievement. Youll collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to ensure each students unique needs are met.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with high school students in special education settings
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and monitoring
- Ability to employ a variety of teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative mindset and commitment to building positive relationships with students, families, and staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom instruction tailored to individual student needs and IEP goals
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Conduct assessments to identify students strengths and areas for growth
- Maintain effective communication with families and interdisciplinary team members
- Document and track student progress regularly
- Participate in IEP meetings and professional development activities
