Job Description

This contract position offers you the chance to dedicate your skills exclusively onsite, working with a caseload of 19 students, all within one high school campus. Your mornings will be spent creating engaging, customized instruction for a diverse group of learners, and ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Requirements and Experience Desired:

  • Current and valid Michigan Special Education certification
  • Experience teaching students with a range of disabilities at the high school level
  • Ability to design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong communication skills for partnering with parents, staff, and other professionals
  • Willingness to be onsite each day
  • Adaptability and teamwork skills; comfort participating in panel interviews

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction, interventions, and support for high school special education students
  • Develop and document IEPs tailored to each students needs
  • Monitor and report on student progress
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers
  • Maintain positive and productive relationships with students and families
